LEATHER PAINTINGS
THE PROCESS
Custom, hand-painted leather items are available only through commissions. My commissions open 4x per year, and remain open for 48hours at a time. Commission requests are only accepted within this 2 day window. The next round of commissions will be open September 2nd - September 4th.
I’m so excited to create a one-of-a-kind piece tailored just for you. Here's how the process works:
1. Commission Openings + Applications
Commissions are closed unless otherwise specified. You may apply for a commission only within the 48 hour window that they are opened. To apply, you must fill out the commission form in its entirety, and follow all directions. I will not accept incomplete/incorrect submissions due to the high demand and volume of submissions I receive.
Unfortunately, not all submissions will be accepted. I take around 3-9 submissions each round, depending on my availability the following three months. If you are selected, you will receive an email from me 7-10 business days after commissions close.
2. Pricing and Payment
Price depends on the number of matchboxes painted on the purse. Price ranges are provided on the commission application.
If accepted, you will receive an email from me outlining next steps, and estimated price. At this point, you need to let me know if you would like to move forward with the commission or decline.
If you choose to move forward, you must respond to my email, and provide a 50% non-refundable deposit within 48 hours of being contacted. If you fail to respond within 48 hours, I will assume you do not want to move forward and your spot will be given to someone else.
The remaining 50% of the payment will be paid upon completion of the purse, prior to shipping. Shipping is not included.
Payments must be made through zelle or venmo.
3: Materials
You must provide the purse/leather item you wish to be painted. You can either send me a purse you already have, or ship one to me. In the commission application you are required to attach a photo and link if available, of the purse you wish to be painted. I am only able to paint on certain materials, so I need to make sure the purse you have in mind is one that I am able to paint on.
Purses/leather items can be real or faux leather (I'm a vegetarian so I personally prefer faux). The texture must be smooth, I am unable to paint of pebbled leather, crocodile, or suede.
Quality, I recommend investing in a well made, and durable purse. Of course, you do not have to, but in my opinion, if I am paying for something to be painted, I would want to make sure the purse itself holds up.
4: Scheduled Timeline
When you book a commission, your purse will be scheduled across the next three months. Each commission period lasts three months, so you can accept your purse within this window.
This scheduling allows us time to:
-
Plan your design: Discuss ideas, themes, and preferences.
-
Mockup: I will provide up to 3 mockup options for you to chose from.
-
Finalize the concept: Ensure every detail aligns with your vision.
Why This Process?
This timeline ensures each commission receives the time, attention, and care it deserves. By spacing out projects, I can focus on creating something truly special for every client.
